Allergy season brings a whole host of challenges. For some you’ll have the typical itchy eyes and stuffy nose, for others asthma gets triggered. Did you know that some people have skin rashes, breakouts, and gut issues from their seasonal allergies?!
Everyone’s bodies respond differently.
That can make finding the right herbal blend tricky if you’re trying to create ONE blend that can help the whole family.
I created this allergy tea blend I call “Seasonal Support” to help with a little bit of everything.
The ingredients contain adaptogenic, antiallergenic, anti-inflammatory, bitter, diuretic, and immune-boosting properties, as well as being high in Vitamin C.
Of course, you’ll want to consider your personal struggles and think about what herbs could be added or taken away to fine-tune it for you.
For example:
If you have allergic asthma, you’ll want to add Mullein for sure, and if you have an excess of mucus as well, consider adding Marshmallow and Hyssop for the mucus membrane balancing and expectorant properties.
If your gut is sensitive to bitter herbs, consider removing the Dandelion Root and adding Plantain for its astringent properties that can be soothing and healing during allergy season.
This recipe is a great place to get started. It’s a lovely balance of flavors and properties and can be enjoyed hot or cold.
Enjoy!
