Raspberry Lemon Tulsi Tea

With the abundance of summer, comes the early season fruit. On our farm that’s a LOT of raspberries. After the kids have had their fill of fresh eating, I fill up containers of them and head them to the dehydrator. Twenty-four hours later I’m met with hundreds of raspberry pieces destined for this refreshing and nurturing herbal tea blend.

Raspberries themselves have high amounts of Vitamin C, quercetin, and are anti-inflammatory. Partnering them with the high levels of antioxidants in lemon peel, and the herbal properties of tulsi, oats, and lemongrass, you have a delicious summer tea blend that supports your body’s immune, gut, and nervous system functions.

Tulsi / Holy Basil

Tulsi is known for it’s adaptogenic properties. Adaptogenic herbs are a class of herbs that are superior at supporting the body during times of stress. Stress doesn’t necessarily mean a temporarily hard situation for the body. It can mean a change of season, or after giving birth. Even traveling through different time zones and climates puts stress on the body, and adaptogenic herbs help support you through it.

Oat Tops

Oat tops are incredibly nourishing and supportive for the nervous system. In their fresh state, when they are “milky” when broken from their stem, they can be made into a tincture for a potent nervous system tonic. BONUS: They’re super supportive for hormone balance.

Lemongrass

Lemongrass is a multi-use herb. It has benefits for the gut and digestion, joint pain, menstrual cramps, can support a healthy cardiovascular system, and is excellent for the skin.

This herbal tea blend is packed with antioxidants and energy-boosting components and is beneficial and delicious as a cold infusion or a standard (warm) infusion. Click “print recipe” for a copy of this recipe.
